The 82 wins surpassed the total of the previous record set by the Mets during the 2000 season. The Mets also won 49 games in the first half of the season, the most in any half of a season in team history.
Cesar Puello hit a go-ahead RBI single to right in the 10th inning to plate Blake Forsythe to give the Mets the lead.
Adrian Rosario picked up the victory in relief and tossed two scoreless innings and struck out two.
Jack Leathersich also pitched two scoreless innings and fanned three.
Angel Cuan gave up two runs and two hits over three innings with four strikeouts. Kyle Allen started and surrendered two unearned runs and four hits in three innings.
The Mets visit the Marauders on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the regular season finale. Erik Goeddel is the scheduled starter for the Mets.
