It was 0-0 in the seventh when Salt Lake starter Brad Mills issued a one-out walk to Kila Ka'aihue. Shane Peterson followed by taking a 2-1 pitch to the opposite field and over the left field wall to make it 2-0. The Bees got one run back in the bottom of the seventh on a run-scoring fielder's choice by Ed Lucas, but the River Cats got to Salt Lake reliever Caleb Graham, who was making his Triple-A debut. He surrendered a two-run homer to Jermaine Mitchell and then a solo shot by Ka'aihue.
Mills (5-10) suffered his third straight defeat, as he went seven innings and allowed just two runs on three hits with five walks and one strikeout. Offensively, the Bees managed just four singles in the game; one each by Trevor Crowe, Doug Deeds, Ryan Langerhans and Matt Long. In the seventh game of his rehab assignment, Peter Bourjos went hitless for the first time (0-for-3).
