The Bears got the scoring started in the first inning. With two outs, Joe Loftus reached on a walk and then came in to score when a fielder's choice ground ball to short was thrown away. The Bears tied the game in the sixth inning, starting with a Loftus' double that plated Kevin Medrano, who had reached on a single. The Bears then used two walks to load the bases with two outs in the sixth. The second Bears run in the sixth scored when Josh Parr was hit by a pitch and the third came home on a passed ball to tie the game. Neither team would score again until the ninth, when the Bears got a lead-off single from Danny Poma, moved the runner with a sacrifice bunt from Yogey Perez-Ramos, and Kevin Medrano hit a double over the left fielder to give the Bears a 5-4 lead.
