CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Clearwater Threshers have finalized and released the schedule for 2013, marking the tenth anniversary of Threshers baseball at Bright House Field.
The season will once again begin and conclude with a series against the cross-town rival Dunedin Blue Jays. The Threshers and Blue Jays will open play in Dunedin on Thursday April 4, with Friday April 5 serving as the 2013 home opener at Bright House Field.
As in previous seasons, the Threshers will play a heavy diet of games against division opponents Dunedin, Tampa, Lakeland, Daytona, and Brevard. The team will also host FSL South squads Fort Myers, Bradenton, St. Lucie, Charlotte, and Jupiter for one four-game series apiece in Clearwater.
April and August will consist of games primarily within the division, while the middle months will feature a wider variety of opponents. A number of four and six-game homestands will give fans plenty of chances to catch Clearwater in action throughout the year.
The team's busiest month at home will take place in June, as the Threshers will host 16 games against six different opponents.
Highlighting the team's promotional calendar will be the return of the popular Independence Day fireworks shows on two July dates. These dates in 2013 are set for Wednesday July 3 and Saturday July 6.
The final home opening of the season will take place on Saturday August 31 versus Dunedin, with the regular season finale on the road in Dunedin on Sunday September 1.
Be sure to check Threshersbaseball.com in the upcoming days, as ticket pricing and specific promotion details will be released at a later date.
