The Whitecaps, in conjunction with Cumulus Broadcasting, the Home of the Tigers on 107.3 WBBL and 97 WLAV, will host Detroit Tigers Watch Parties in the Fifth Third Ballpark Pepsi Stadium Club throughout the MLB post-season. The games will also be shown on the center field 54-foot by 28-foot high-resolution video board, weather permitting.
The viewing parties will begin with the American League Division Series opener on Saturday, October 6, when the Tigers host Game 1 of the 2012 postseason. Game 2 will be on Sunday, October 7, and Game 3 will be Tuesday, October 9. Games 4 and 5, if necessary, of the best-of-five series will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, October 10 and 11. The Tigers host the first two games, and the final three games of the series will be on the road. Game times have not yet been announced.
The events are open to all ages and parking and admission to the Pepsi Stadium Club are free. Doors open one hour before game time. Traditional baseball food including hot dogs and beer will be available for purchase; fans will also have the option of purchasing a $12 wristband that will give them unlimited food (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and cookies) and Pepsi products from game start time through the fifth inning.
The Whitecaps plan to host watch parties for the entire Tigers postseason run.
? The indoor banquet and party facility that overlooks Fifth Third Ballpark's field from the right-center outfield wall has played host to numerous "watch parties" for high-profile sporting events since it opened six years ago. The facility has six televisions, including two 50-inch large screens, for viewing by a crowd of up to 250 fans. Tigers season openers and playoff games, the Daytona 500 and University of Michigan vs. Ohio State football are some of the events that have been viewed at the PSC.
