Food donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina surpassed 3,800 pounds, which is the most ever collected at a movie night inside BB&T Ballpark.
"We appreciate our partnership with the Dash and their support of this great family fun event and the positive contribution it makes to the mission of the Second Harvest Food Bank," said Tommy Camp, the President and CEO of Prudential Carolinas Realty.
"It was special to witness our community's generosity as fans filed in with food donations," said Dash President Geoff Lassiter. "Seeing so many people in BB&T Ballpark outside of the baseball season is remarkable. Our movie night was an example of the type of unique events that sets our facility apart."
Dash fans can take in another "Family Movie Night" at BB&T Ballpark this Saturday, October 13, presented by Nature's Select Premium Turf Services. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and Puss in Boots will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is one canned food item per person, with all of the donations once again benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. Fans can also donate onsite to the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, the Bethesda Center for the Homeless and Family Services.
Concessions will be open at BB&T Ballpark, but no outside food or drinks will be permitted. Fans are invited to sit on the field at BB&T Ballpark and bring their own blankets and pillows. However, no chairs are allowed inside the stadium.
