FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Fort Myers Miracle and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to extend their Player Development Contract for two years, through the 2014 season.

"We very pleased to continue this great relationship with the Minnesota Twins," said Miracle general manager, Andrew Seymour.

The Twins longest-running Minor League full-season affiliate, Fort Myers began its association with Minnesota in 1993. The Miracle have been a staple of family, fun, affordable entertainment in Southwest Florida for the last 17 years. Drawing more than 120,000 fans in three of the last five seasons, including 2012, the Miracle have been top-four in the Florida State League for individual game average attendance every year since 2005.

A total of 21 players who suited up for the Twins in 2012 have spent development time in Fort Myers, including Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Denard Span, Ben Revere, Alexi Casilla, Brian Dozier, Trevor Plouffe, Chris Parmalee, Chris Hermann and Liam Hendricks.

The Miracle are owned by The Goldklang Group. The Goldklang Group provides operational consulting and management services in all areas relating to sports franchise and event acquisition, promotion and operation. The principals in the Group are Marvin Goldklang and Mike Veeck. Goldklang is a noted owner and operator of several highly successful Minor League Baseball franchises, Chairman of M.S. Goldklang and Company, a New Jersey-based merchant banking firm, and a limited partner in the Yankees. Veeck is a noted public speaker and author, as well as an owner and operator of Minor League Baseball clubs that continually are recognized nationally for their promotional innovation and financial success.
