The Williamsport Crosscutters have added another guest to the 7th Annual Hot Stove Banquet to be held on Monday, January 21 at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport presented by HB Rentals, Woodlands Bank, the Williamsport Sun-Gazette and WRAK Radio.

Added to the guest list is Montoursville native and former Japanese baseball MVP Tom O'Malley. O'Malley was drafted by the San Francisco in 1979, and made his major league debut with the Giants in 1982. He spent a total of 9 season in the majors with San Francisco (1982-1984), Chicago White Sox (1984), Baltimore Orioles (1985-1986), Texas Rangers (1987), Montreal Expos (1988), & New York Mets (1989-1990).

He then went on to play six highly successful seasons in Japan with the Hanshin Tigers (1991-1994) and the Yakult Swallows (1995-1996) hitting over .300 in each of his seasons overseas. In 1996 with the Swallows, O'Malley captured the league MVP award as well as the Japan Series MVP as Hanshin won the Japanese title.

Previously announced special guests include; 2-time Cy Young Award winner and former AL MVP Denny McLain, Phillies pitcher Justin DeFratus, & Hughesville Head Baseball Coach Casey Waller. Other guests from the Philadelphia Phillies will include Joe Jordan, Director of Player Development, Steve Noworyta, Asst. Director of Player Development and Marti Wolever, Asst. GM, Amateur Scouting.

The evening will consist of dinner, an entertainment portion, featuring interviews and question and answer segments with many of the special guests, plus Chinese and live auctions of Phillies & other sports memorabilia by the T&S Auction Company.

Doors open at 5:30pm for cocktail hour and the start of the Chinese auction along with entertainment by Boomer and the Phillie Phanatic. The dinner and entertainment portion of the festivities will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Free autographs will be available for attendees at the close of event.

One of the banquet highlights is the announcement of the latest inductee of the Bowman Field Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame was established in 1989 by the Bowman Field Commission and the Williamsport Bills as a way to honor those who were influential and important to the history of Bowman Field and professional baseball in Williamsport.

This year's inductee will be local baseball historian Lou Hunsinger, Jr.

Dormant since 1991, the Hall of Fame was revived by the Crosscutters in 2009. Former Williamsport Bill Dave Bresnahan, of Great Potato Caper fame, was inducted in 2012. The latest inductee is expected to be announced in December.
