LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Gwinnett Braves have awarded their $1,000 grant for the month of October to Creative Enterprises, Inc. (CEI), announced on Thu, Nov. 1. The "Four Legged Friends" themed grant will help CEI continue its program giving disabled adults the opportunity to rescue and care for abandoned cats.

Based in Lawrenceville, Ga., Creative Enterprises, Inc. is dedicated to assisting adults with disabilities and others with barriers to employment in maximizing their potential. Through CEI's Cat Shelter, clients receive a supportive training environment and learn to work and earn a paycheck under the supervision of CEI staff. The fully licensed animal shelter is open to the public, offering cats and kittens for adoption.

CEI's clients participate in not only housing and feeding the cats, but also preparing them to find permanent homes. The organization plans to use the $1,000 grant provided by the G-Braves to help cover the expenses of spaying and neutering the cats, as well as for shots and other necessary veterinary treatments.

"The staff and clients at CEI are thrilled to be the recipient of this grant," said Leigh McIntosh, executive director of Creative Enterprises. "Our licensed Cat Shelter is in need of some good homes for loving cats that are accustomed to being petted by our clients."
