As did most New York City area residents, both the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Staten Island Yankees suffered significant damages during last week's storm. The Doubledays are working with the New York-Penn League and Buffalo Wild Wings to help bring in donations to help assist these two organizations recover from their losses.
Both ballparks sustained damages, including the field, dugout, LED boards, and locker rooms. Brooklyn suffered the most with four to five feet of water in the main offices and locker rooms.
The NYPL has already sent two trucks full of generators, gasoline, high-volume fans (blowers), electrical extension cords, and dry/wet vacuums. Current needs include jars of peanut butter and jelly, powered Gatorade mix, industrial strength garbage bags, rakes, brooms, mops, cleaning supplies, work gloves, baby diapers, baby food, battery-operated nebulizers, and diabetic sugar-testing kits.
Any way that you can help out would be greatly appreciated. The Doubledays will be taking donations at Falcon Park or Buffalo Wild Wings at 1612 Clark St. Auburn, NY. Any person that donates will recieve six free wings at Buffalo Wild Wings with any purchase. Any questions can be emailed to info@auburndoubledays.com or you can call the main office at (315) 255-2489.
