Angels' No. 7 prospect Travis Witherspoon was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs, snapping a 2-for-25 slump for the Scorpions. Slade Heathcott, the New York No. 5 prospect, opened the game with a home run and finished with four hits while fellow Yankees farmhand David Adams scored three runs as Scottsdale kept its slim division hopes alive. Twins prospect Nate Roberts, who leads the AFL with a .474 batting average, was 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs to help keep the Javelinas in first place in the West Division. Mike Zunino, the Mariners' No. 4 prospect, had three hits and scored twice while Reds' No. 5 prospect Didi Gregorius homered. Whit Merrifield (Royals) had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Saguaros. Mets' No. 6 prospect Cesar Puello hit a two-run double and scored three times while Rangers prospect Jimmy Reyes lowered his ERA to 0.68 with two scoreless innings of relief to earn his first save.
