"This has been the best professional experience I could have ever asked for. I have been fortunate to work with three wonderful owners that have given me the opportunity of a lifetime," said Lyman.
Lyman is speaking of Pulaski Baseball Inc. owners Tom Compton, Rick Mansell and Wayne Carpenter. For the first time, they chose to bring Lyman on as a full-time employee, working all year round. Not only did Lyman work closely with Pulaski Baseball Inc, but also with the Seattle Mariners.
Originally hired as a media relations intern for the Mariners, Lyman completed her internship with the Mariners in 2010. After her internship, Lyman was promoted to Assistant General Manager for the 2011 season, and was then promoted to General Manager for the 2012 season.
Lyman is a native of Highland, Utah, and graduated from Brigham Young University in Public Relations. Lyman's departure is an effort to live and work closer to her family. She wants to continue to work in the field of Minor League Baseball.
"I have met some of the most amazing people here in Pulaski. Working with local sponsors, businesses and fans of the Mariners has been such a fulfilling experience," said Lyman. "I've grown to love southwest Virginia and the people I have met. It was a bittersweet decision to leave."
For any questions, please contact the ballpark at 540-980-1070 or email the Mariners at info@pulaskimariners.net.
