SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Ryan Sanders Baseball, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers, announced Friday at a press conference in San Antonio a two-day, two-game exhibition between the Rangers and San Diego Padres at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The games will be held Friday, March 29, at 7:05 p.m. CDT and Saturday, March 30, at 1:05 p.m.
Tickets for what is being billed as Big League Weekend will go on sale to the general public Friday, Nov. 30, at noon. These will be the first Major League games played at the 20-year-old Alamodome. Officials from Ryan Sanders Baseball, the Rangers, Padres, San Antonio Missions, City of San Antonio and Bexar County were present at Friday's press conference.
"We're excited about the opportunity to be playing in the first-ever baseball games in the Alamodome," Rangers President and CEO Nolan Ryan said. "We appreciate the support of everyone involved from the city, the Missions and the Padres, as well."
Ryan Sanders Baseball is the owner and operator of Round Rock Express Baseball, the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
