ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-Outfielder Adam Eaton and infielder Jake Elmore, who helped lead the Reno Aces to a Triple-A National Championship in 2012, have been named Topps Triple-A All-Stars, Minor League Baseball announced today.
Eaton and Elmore represent the third and fourth Aces to earn the distinction in franchise history, joining catcher John Hester (2009) and outfielder Collin Cowgill (2011). Reno and Albuquerque were the lone clubs to land two representatives on the squad.
The Triple-A All-Star recognition caps a celebrated season for Eaton, who also earned Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year honors. After beginning the season at Double-A Mobile, Eaton went on to lead all Triple-A batters in batting average (.381), hits (186), doubles (46), runs (119) and on-base percentage (.456). He made his Major League debut with Arizona in September.
Elmore enjoyed a breakout 2012 campaign that resulted in his first taste of the big leagues with the Diamondbacks. He joined Eaton as a starter on the PCL All-Star team, and left Reno with a .344 batting average, 40 extra-base hits, 73 RBIs and a .442 on-base percentage-all career-bests.
The Aces open the 2013 season on the road, before facing the Sacramento River Cats on April 12 at Aces Ballpark. All full and partial season tickets are available now by calling (775) 334-4700.
