Tickets to the event are available to the public, and will be $35 for individual tickets and $120 for a group of four. The ticket price includes food and drinks for all guests, as well as a program of Miami Marlins and Zephyrs speakers, and musical entertainment. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age.
Continuing a recent tradition, the Zephyrs will induct the first member of the New Orleans Professional Baseball Hall of Fame's Class of 2013 at the reception, welcoming Jim Bullinger into the elite group. Bullinger, whose brother Kirk was inducted into the NOPB Hall of Fame in 2009, spent parts of seven seasons in the majors with the Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos and Seattle Mariners.
After graduating from Archbishop Rummel High School, Bullinger attended the University of New Orleans, helping the Privateers reach the 1984 College World Series, becoming the first team from the state of Louisiana to do so. He was drafted as a shortstop by the Cubs in the ninth round of the 1986 draft, and was converted to pitcher three years later.
Bullinger made his major league debut with the Cubs in 1992, and won a career-high 12 games with a 4.14 ERA in 24 starts for Chicago in 1995. He last pitched in the majors with Seattle in 1998, compiling a 34-41 career record and 5.06 ERA, and finished his professional career in 2005 with the Chicago White Sox's Triple-A affiliate.
Further details regarding the list of attendees featuring past and present Zephyrs, as well as Marlins personnel, will be released as the event draws closer.
