Des Moines, IA - Iowa Cubs broadcaster Randy Wehofer will be the Master of Ceremonies for the Opening Session and Awards Luncheon to open the Baseball Winter Meetings on Monday at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN. This will be Wehofer's fifth consecutive season in this role and sixth overall.

During the Opening Session, Minor League Baseball recognizes the Executive of the Year in each of its 16 leagues and President Pat O'Conner distributes special awards to others he wants to recognize for outstanding contributions to the game. Representatives from both Major and Minor League Baseball gather for the Awards Luncheon when the presentations are made for the Joe Bauman Tropy, the Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year, the Bowie Kuhn Award, classification winners of the Sports Turf Managers Association awards, Scouts of the Year, the Baseball America Organization of the Year Award, and the Baseball America Bob Freitas Awards for the top clubs at each level of the minor leagues.

Iowa Cubs President/General Manager Sam Bernabe will be seated on the dais and recognized at each event for his role as the Chairman of the Minor League Baseball Board of Trustees.
