In addition to newly hired PBUC evaluator, Tyler Funneman, Minor League Baseball™ umpires Chase Eade (Appalachian), Blake Felix (California), Brandon Henson (Southern), Tom Honec (Eastern), Javerro January (South Atlantic), Ron Teague (California) and Lew Williams (Midwest) will assist Professional Baseball Umpire Corp (PBUC™) supervisors in instructing students at TUS from Jan. 6 to Feb. 3, 2013, at Vero Beach Sports Village™ in Vero Beach, Fla.
PBUC™ oversees the training and employment of umpires in the Minor League Baseball system throughout the United States and Canada, and provides lead instructors for The Umpire School.
"The addition of eight new staff members for the 2013 class, all of whom are uniquely qualified to help our students achieve their personal and professional goals, gives The Umpire School a lower student-to-teacher ratio, allowing its attendees to receive even more individual instruction," TUS executive director, Justin Klemm, said. "These eight professionals will make an immediate impact, and have been hand selected for their knowledge, expertise and willingness to help others learn this craft. They are among the best professional baseball has to offer."
TUS is the only all-inclusive professional baseball umpire school with on-site field and classroom instruction, housing, dining and recreation. Detailed information about the 28-day course, including its curriculum, cost and available training packages, can be found on www.TheRightCall.net. Anyone interested in attending the 2013 class can register via the website.
