LAKEWOOD, NJ - 2009 BlueClaws catcher Travis d'Arnaud is headed to the Big Apple. He's been traded from Toronto to the Mets as part of a deal that sent Cy Young winner RA Dickey to the Blue Jays.

d'Arnaud, who hit .255 with 13 home runs and 71 RBIs with Lakewood in 2009, helped the BlueClaws win their second South Atlantic League title that year. After the season, he was traded to the Blue Jays as part of the trade that brought Roy Halladay to the Phillies.

d'Arnaud played for Hi-A Dunedin in 2010. In 2011, he won the Eastern League MVP Award, hitting .311 with 21 home runs and 78 RBIs. In 2012, playing for Triple-A Las Vegas, he hit .333 with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs in just 67 games before a knee injury prematurely ended his season.

He was ranked as the 19th best prospect in all of baseball on Baseball America's 2012 Mid-Season Top 50 list.

d'Arnaud becomes the 5th former BlueClaw to be traded this off-season (Trevor May and Vance Worley from Philadelphia to Minnesota; Lisalverto Bonilla from Philadelphia to Texas; and Jason Donald from Cleveland to Cincinnati).

49 BlueClaws have gone "From The Shore, To The Show," and d'Arnaud would be the first player to make his big league debut with the Mets.
