The event will mark the beginning of the Snappers' relationship with the Oakland Athletics and will feature speakers from the organization's front office. Oakland's Director of Minor League Operations, Ted Polakowski, and Director of Player Development, Keith Lieppman, will be addressing the audience, along with former Athletics' outfielder and current Snappers manager Ryan Christenson.
In the spirit of the holidays, a portion of the event's proceeds will benefit Beloit Meals on Wheels. Beloit Meals on Wheels was established in 1971. The program was created to service residents who were homebound, including, but not limited to, the elderly, ill, and handicapped residents of the Greater Beloit Area who were unable to prepare meals for themselves. Today, they serve a broad spectrum of clientele, meeting their varied needs, be they on a short-term basis while recuperating from an illness or surgery, for long-term recuperation, or as a more permanent means of food service.
Tickets for the event are $40 per person, which includes dinner, two box seat ticket vouchers for any April Snappers home game in 2013 and the program for the evening. You may also purchase a table of 8 for $300 (37.50 per ticket). Tickets will not be sold at the door and must be purchased in advance.
Tickets will go on sale through the Beloit Snappers offices beginning on January 7th and can be purchased by calling the Snappers offices at 608-362-2272 or by stopping by Pohlman Field at 2301 Skyline Drive in Beloit. Tickets for both the dinner and the program are non-refundable.
The Eclipse Center is located at 1701 Riverside Drive. Doors will open at 5:15pm for the silent auction and social hour. Dinner will begin at 6:30pm and the program will start at approximately 7:15pm.
The Beloit Snappers are a member of the Midwest League and are a Class-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. Opening Day at Pohlman Field is set for April 11, 2013 at 6:30pm when the Snappers face the Burlington Bees, the Midwest League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. For ticket information, contact the Snappers office at 608-362-2272 or visit our website at www.snappersbaseball.com.
