FRISCO, Texas - The Round Rock Express will head to Frisco to face the Texas Rangers' Double-A affiliate, the RoughRiders, in a pre-season exhibition game on Tuesday, April 2. First pitch at Dr Pepper Ballpark is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Rangers' top two farm teams will go head-to-head in a display of some of the best talent in the Rangers' system. This will be the second time the two teams have faced off in the "Future Rangers Showcase" at Dr Pepper Ballpark. The first contest was on April 3, 2011. The combined rosters from that game featured 15 future major leaguers, including current Rangers Craig Gentry and Martin Perez.
"Anytime you can put the top two affiliates with the top talent in the Rangers' farm system on the same field, it's bound to be good baseball," said George King, general manager of the Express. "A lot of our players who came through Frisco are looking forward to seeing the great fans there again."
A limited number of tickets are currently available for fans to purchase for the "Future Rangers Showcase 2013." Fans can purchase tickets by calling the RoughRiders ticket office at (972) 731-9200.
The Express returns to Dell Diamond on Thursday, April 4 to begin the 2013 regular season with an eight-game home stand that includes four-game series against Omaha (April 4-7) and Iowa (April 8-11). To reserve your ticket plans, including full season, 20-game and flex plans, call the Express ticket office at (512) 255-2255 or visit www.RoundRockExpress.com.
