First, take a moment to remember, and appreciate, the most influential baseball player of the modern era.
Second, join the Bakersfield Blaze on April 15, 2013, as the team celebrates Jackie Robinson Day at Sam Lynn Ballpark in a very special way.
The Blaze will take on the Inland Empire 66ers in a 7:15 p.m. game, and there will be no shortage of promotions. The entire Blaze team and coaching staff will wear commemorative Jackie Robinson No. 42 jerseys, which will be auctioned off throughout the game and presented to the winning bidders immediately following the final out. Those bidding on the jerseys will take home this one-time-only item celebrating Robinson's retired number on a throwback Blaze uniform. Proceeds will go to local charities.
In addition, the regularly scheduled Carl's Jr. Dollar Monday promotion will occur as planned. General admission seats and hot dogs each cost just one dollar while supplies last, with special in-store deals from our partners at Carl's Jr. also available throughout the day.
The 2013 regular season begins April 4, on the road in Stockton against the Oakland Athletics' farm club, the Ports. The 2013 home opener is set for April 11. Season tickets are available now by calling 661-716-4487.
Fans can continue to follow the Blaze via the team homepage, BakersfieldBlaze.com, or on the team's Facebook page and via Twitter, @BakoBlaze to stay up to date on preparations for the 2013 season and progress on the new ballpark.
