Since the late 80's he has personally visited quite a few elementary schools with his Casey's Challenge that encourages students to memorize the famous baseball poem Casey at the Bat for a special prize. In addition, the Suns will host three Celebration of Reading Days where schools are encouraged to take a fieldtrip to the ballpark for a fun-filled day at a Suns game. Duval County Media Specialists will also be honored for their contributions and accomplishments prior to a Suns game in 2013.

Peter D. Bragan Jr stated, "We are proud to partner with Duval County Public Schools and hopefully this program will help students as they prepare to take the FCAT writing test later in February." Duval County Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Nikolai Vitti stated, "We are excited to be partnering with the Jacksonville Suns in promoting our students' literacy; and we deeply appreciate Mr. Bragan's generous sponsorship of an annual scholarship for our students. Partnerships like these will take our school system from good to great."
