Sox Announce 2013 Field Staff
02/25/2013 4:29 PM ET

The Chicago White Sox have announced the 2013 Bristol White Sox coaching staff, with new manager Bobby Magallanes set to skipper the club.

Magallanes, 43, will be managing for the tenth year in the minor leagues. He served as manager for the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, for the past two years.

Prior to beginning his managing career, Magallanes played for a decade in the minor leagues.

Magallanes will be joined by returning pitching coach Larry Owens, who will be in Bristol for the third summer, and hitting coach Greg Briley, who also returns for his third season with the Bristol Sox.

Briley, 47, played six seasons in the major leagues, spending time with the Seattle Mariners and the former Florida Marlins. Owens, 44, played professionally for the Atlanta Braves organization before beginning his coaching career, which has included stints in the collegiate summer leagues, a tour of several colleges, and the last seven years as a pitching coach in the White Sox organization.

"We are excited about the announcement of our 2013 coaching staff," said Mahlon Luttrell, President of Bristol Baseball, Incorporated and General Manager for the Sox. "We will have a great manager and group of coaches, and hope to have a good ball club next summer.

Former Bristol Sox skipper Pete Rose, Jr. will move to the Pioneer League to manage the Great Falls Voyagers. Ryan Newman, who led the Bristol Sox before Rose, will move from Great Falls to the Single-A Winston-Salem Dash.

"We wish our former managers the best as they move to other teams in the White Sox organization," Luttrell continued. "Pete and Ryan both were great to work with, and we are all looking forward to working with Bobby and his staff this year."

James Kruk will serve as trainer for the Bristol Sox, and will be joined by Ibrahim Rivera, who will return as the team's conditioning coach. Former Bristol trainer Kevin Pillifant will join Rose in Great Falls for 2013.

Sox fans can view the 2013 schedule, released last month, online at BristolSox.com, and can purchase season tickets by emailing seasontickets@BristolBaseball.com.

General admission passes, good for 30 admissions throughout the regular season, are available for only $50.

"These make the ideal stocking stuffer for the baseball fan in your life," commented Luttrell. "For the fan who wants the same seat each game, we still have a limited number of reserved season tickets left."
