Hamburger suspended for 50 games
Free-agent right-hander cited for second drug violation

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced Monday that free-agent Minor League right-handed pitcher Mark Hamburger has received a 50-game suspension without pay after a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program for a drug of abuse.
Hamburger pitched for three different Triple-A clubs in 2012. He went 0-2 with two saves and a 6.55 ERA in 21 games for Round Rock, 0-2 with a 7.50 ERA in five outings for Tucson and 1-1 with a 4.17 ERA in 17 appearances for Oklahoma City.
The suspension of Hamburger will be effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.
