KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (March 5, 2012) - It's time to get cookin' in Kannapolis.
The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are hosting our fifth annual Baseball & BBQ Bash to benefit the Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer on Saturday, April 13, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will take place in the stadium parking lot prior to the Intimidators game against the Hickory Crawdads, which begins at 7:05 p.m. The game will be followed by the season's first fireworks show, presented by CMC-NorthEast.
Local barbeque teams will compete to see who is the King of the Que. Fans can sample some of the best barbeque around by buying a wristband for only $5 with purchase of an Intimidators game ticket. The Intimidators will donate all wristband proceeds to the Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer. Last season's event drew more than 4,000 fans, and fans are recommended to arrive early to try the fantastic fare. Barbeque teams interested in competing can register at www.baseballbbq.com.
The Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer was founded in 2004 in order to raise funds for the education and awareness of ovarian cancer.
