KINGSPORT METS RELEASE 2013 SCHEDULE
KINGSPORT, TN. - The Kingsport Mets announced they have released their schedule for the 2013 Appalachian League season.
The Mets play 68 scheduled games, including 34 at home from June through August. The Mets open up at home with a three game series against the Johnson City Cardinals, June 20-22. The 2013 season concludes with a three game home series, August 28-30, as they host the Bluefield Blue Jays. Home games Monday-Friday begin at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday games start at 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
The Mets play five home games in June, host 11 games in July and play the bulk of their home schedule in August with 18 games at Hunter Wright Stadium. They have a nine-game homestand from August 12-20, which is the longest of the season.
In 2012, the Mets finished in fourth place with a 23-43 overall record, including 15 victories at home. The Mets have won the Appalachian League championship twice in their history, 1988 and 1995. The 1995 championship was in their inaugural season at Hunter Wright Stadium.
