Brandon Marcus comes from Los Angeles, Calif., where he graduated from USC with a major in broadcast journalism. He will be responsible for the play-by-play of all the home and away games for the Bees this year, along with handling all media related items. Marcus spent the last two summers as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Los Angeles Angels Rookie-level short-season affiliate in Orem, Utah. During the offseason, he does play-by-play for Cal Poly Pomona men's and women's basketball, and also is an editor at NFL.com.
Scott Keltner is a native of Ankeny, Iowa, and graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato where he majored in sports management. His experience in baseball started in 2008, when he served as a bat boy for the Iowa Cubs. The following year he became their visiting team clubhouse assistant. Keltner has served as the assistant clubhouse manager the past three summers for the Cubs. He is in charge of maintaining the Bees clubhouse, serving meals, doing the laundry, maintaining equipment and assisting the coaching staff when needed.
"We're excited to have Brandon and Scott on board," said general manager Chuck Brockett. "Both are young, yet experienced, and will bring a lot of energy to our staff."
Keltner is currently helping with clubhouse operations at the Angels' Spring Training facility in Tempe, Ariz. Both new employees will officially join the Bees staff later this month.
Burlington's home opener is April 4 when the Bees take on the Clinton LumberKings at 6:30 p.m. For more information or to purchase ticket, please call (319) 754-5705 or log on to www.gobees.com online.
