SALT LAKE CITY -- The Salt Lake Bees announced today the 2013 broadcast schedule for the Bees' upcoming Pacific Coast League season featuring five Bees games on KJZZ 14. In addition, 1280 The Zone (1280 AM/97.5 FM) will carry all 144 regular-season games.
The five home games on KJZZ 14 include: April 4 vs. the Tucson Padres, May 16 vs. the Nashville Sounds, June 1 vs. the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, July 5 vs. the Tacoma Rainiers and Aug. 1 vs. the Iowa Cubs. KJZZ 14 will distribute all five games in high definition (HD). This season marks the Bees' first KJZZ 14 appearance since the 2009 season. 1280 The Zone (1280 AM) is the exclusive radio home of the team for the second consecutive season. The Bees will also simulcast select games on 97.5 FM.
In his 20th season as the radio play-by-play voice of the Bees, Steve Klauke will team up with Vance Law, a 1988 MLB All-Star and former head coach of the Brigham Young University baseball team, for all five telecasts. Replacing Klauke on the radio airwaves during the five televised games will be 1280 The Zone personality and Bees' on-field emcee Tony Parks.
"We are looking forward to bringing the Bees and Spring Mobile Ballpark back to the television spotlight in 2013," said Chris Baum, senior vice president of broadcasting for the Salt Lake Bees. "Our televised games, in addition to our radio broadcasts of all 144 games on the most popular sports radio station in the state, will allow fans the unmatched experience of an entertaining season of Salt Lake Bees baseball."
1280 The Zone will begin the regular season broadcast schedule with the Bees home opener on Thu, April 4 when Salt Lake takes on the Tucson Padres at 6:35 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
