ABOUT THE OPPONENT: The Carolina Mudcats, the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will invade BB&T Ballpark for Opening Weekend for the second consecutive season. Winston-Salem suffered its first sweep since July 9-11, 2011, last weekend at Carolina. However, the Dash lead the all-time series 14-9. Carolina features the Indians' last two first-round picks (infielder Francisco Lindor and outfielder Tyler Naquin), both of whom are top five prospects in the Tribe's system.
OPENING NIGHT: The 2013 home slate opens up on Friday night with the home opener at 7, with a special pregame ceremony prior to the game. After the contest, enjoy the first postgame fireworks show of the season, presented by WilcoHess.
OPEN HOUSE: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Dash will be hosting their annual Open House, presented by Prudential Carolinas Realty. The event is free to the public, and fans will have the opportunity to tour BB&T Ballpark, purchase tickets, check out the latest Dash merchandise in the Hanes Team Store and sample ballpark fare. Kids in attendance will also be able to play in the Kids Zone, run the bases and test their broadcasting skills.
KIDS RUN THE BASES: After all three games this weekend, kids will have the opportunity to run the bases. Kids can run the bases following all weekend games in 2013.
