Leon Hits Clutch Homer, but Sens Fall 4-3 in 10
04/16/2013 11:16 PM ET

Sandy Leon hit a game-tying two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning, but the Senators allowed a run in the tenth, as the Reading Fightin Phils walked off with a 4-3 victory. Edgar Duran's single won it for Reading.

Trailing 3-1 entering the ninth, pinch hitter Josh Johnson drew a walk to lead off the inning. Leon followed with his first long ball of the season. He also drove in the first run of the game for the Sens back in the second to tie the contest at one at the time. On the night, the Senators catcher was 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a walk, and a run scored. He also threw out two base runners trying to steal.

The Senators were out-hit 14-5 on the night by Reading, and managed just four knocks against starter Jesse Biddle. The lefty went six innings and gave up one run, while walking four and striking out eight.

Paul Demny started for Harrisburg and scattered 10 hits over five and two-thirds innings. The right-hander was charged with three runs. He walked one and struck out five, and also gave up a solo homer to Cameron Rupp.

Matt Swynenberg, Ian Krol, and Aaron Barrett combined to pitch three and one-third scoreless innings out of the Sens bullpen. Marcos Frias came on for the tenth and gave up a leadoff triple to Albert Cartwright before Duran's single ended it. The loss was the first of the season for Frias.

Tomorrow, the Senators are off before opening up a four-game series at home against Altoona on Thursday. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and the game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and it's available through iHeart Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.
