Roster Transaction Precedes Today's Doubleheader
04/20/2013 11:55 AM ET

The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that pitcher Jose Arias has been placed on the disabled list with inflammation in his right elbow, while pitcher Matt Iannazzo has joined the club from the Cubs spring training complex in Arizona. Iannazzo is active for today's 1 p.m. doubleheader at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark against Quad Cities.

Iannazzo (Non-drafted FA, 2012) split last season between three levels in the Cubs farm system: Mesa (Rookie), Boise (Short-A) and Daytona (Class-A Advanced), combining for a 1-2 record and 4.32 ERA in 14 games. Arias had made two starts this season for the Cougars, most recently on Tuesday.
