With their offense laboring after a one-hit shutout defeat in the doubleheader opener, the Keys took to a new approach; patience. Frederick used four consecutive second inning walks to open the flood gates on a five-run frame en route to an 8-2 win in the nightcap.

The second inning got the Keys going. After four consecutive walks, shortstop Sammie Starr singled home two runs. RBI-singles from catcher Allan de San Miguel and third baseman Jason Esposito finished off the five-run inning. Esposito had three hits in the win.

Keys starter Matt Bischoff was in control again continuing his stretch of innings without an earned run allowed. Usually out of the bullpen, Bischoff worked three scoreless innings and left the game with the Keys leading 8-0. He has now worked nine and 2/3rd's innings without alloing an earned run this year.

All-in-all the Keys walked nine times in the game. Left-hander Zach Fowler allowed a run in two innings to pick up his second win of the year.

The opener was not as kind to the Keys.

Potomac starter Taylor Hill faced one over the minimum in a seven-inning complete game effort. The complete game was the first in the Carolina League in 2013. Frederick's lone hit was a Connor Narron single in the fifth inning.

Potomac grabbed the lead before Keys starter Zach Davies could register an out. The first two batters in the game reached base and later scored. Davies (1-1) would settle in but did not get run support in the 6-0 defeat.

The first-place Keys look to get to ten wins Sunday afternoon with the series finale at 1:05 p.m. at Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge, VA. Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez will make the start for the Keys.

Frederick returns home for Family Fitness Weekend Friday, April 26th with a 7:00 p.m. game against the Carolina Mudcats. The first 1,000 kids ages 16 and under will receive a Free T-Shirt courtesy of Remax Results Amanda Addington.
