Fisher Cats Homer-Happy in 5-2 Win
Tepera, 3 long balls lead to sweep of Reading
05/05/2013 4:20 PM ET

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Ryan Schimpf, Adam Loewen, and Clint Robinson all blasted solo home runs to lead Ryan Tepera and the Fisher Cats (15-16) to a 4-0 win over the Reading Fightin Phils (12-16) on Sunday afternoon. Tepera tossed six shutout innings for the victory, delivering the Fisher Cats to their first series sweep in 2013.

All three home runs for the Fisher Cats came under similar conditions - with two outs in their respective innings. Schimpf blasted his in the first inning against Rosin, who then surrendered Loewen's in the bottom of the second for a 2-0 Fisher Cats lead. Leading 3-0 in the sixth, Robinson's fourth cleared the wall in right field to push New Hampshire ahead, 4-0.

That run support was enough for Tepera, who coasted through the first two innings before running into trouble in the third. He loaded the bases in that frame, and allowed the first two guys to reach in the fourth. In both instances, he was able to wiggle out of trouble without giving up a run. All told, he moved into a tie for the league lead with his fourth victory, giving up just three hits on the afternoon.

Robinson led the offense going 2-4 with a home run and an RBI double in the eighth inning. He is now hitting .337, and will carry a nine-game hit streak into Monday's series opener with New Britain.

The opener of that three-game set features the Northeast Delta Dental Oral Health Challenge. The Fisher Cats will also recognize schools that had one-hundred-percent student participation in the Fisher Cats Reading Challenge presented by the Community College System of New Hampshire. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. Tickets are available at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, by phone at 603-641-2005, or by visiting www.nhfishercats.com.

Radio coverage of Monday's game begins at 6:15 p.m. with Tom Gauthier and Bob Lipman on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and www.nhfishercats.com.
