May 29, 2013

Not only will fans again have their voice heard this summer in voting for 2013 Triple-A All-Star Game participants, but they'll also get to watch their favorite stars online for free.

Online balloting kicked off Wednesday to help determine rosters for the 26th annual Triple-A All-Star Game, which will be played on July 17 at Reno's Aces Ballpark in Nevada. Fans can vote online at MiLB.com, with all eligible voters receiving a five-day free preview of MiLB.TV after they cast their ballots.

Fans can vote up to 25 times for the Pacific Coast League and International League rosters, with fan balloting accounting for one-third of the total vote -- additional ballots will be cast by members of the media and each club's field manager, coaches and general manager.

Fans can select one player for each of the infield positions, plus three outfielders, a designated hitter and four pitchers -- two starters and two relievers. Write-in votes for players not listed on the ballot will also be accepted.

IL veteran Mike Hessman and Gwinnett first baseman Ernesto Mejia, who are tied for the league lead with 13 homers, highlight a ballot that also includes top-ranked prospects like Louisville's Billy Hamilton, Pawtucket's Bryce Brentz, Durham's Wil Myers and Indianapolis' Gerrit Cole.

The PCL ballot includes Triple-A home run leader Kila Ka'aihue and fellow Ace Tyler Skaggs of host Reno, Memphis prospects Oscar Taveras, Michael Wacha and Kolten Wong, Sacramento's Michael Choice, Nashville's Tyler Thornburg and Las Vegas' Zack Wheeler.

The All-Star Game festivities in Reno will include the All-Star FanFest held July 12-14, the annual Triple-A Home Run Derby on Monday, July 15 and the Triple-A All-Star Luncheon on July 17.

Spread the word on Twitter and Facebook and have your voice heard -- vote now and get a free preview of MiLB.TV.
