Bradley, Herrera honored by Topps

McBride, Aliotti, Farrell acknowledged for May performances

D-backs No. 2 prospect Archie Bradley and Rockies shortstop Rosell Herrera were among those honored by Topps and Minor League Baseball on Tuesday for their efforts last month in the Minors. 

One player from each league was acknowledged with the May Topps Player of the Month award for their performances during the season's second month. Bradley was one of two pitchers selected after going 4-1 with a 0.79 ERA for Double-A Mobile in the Southern League. The BayBears right-hander ranked third in average against (.182) and fourth with 37 strikeouts. In 34 innings, Bradley allowed just 22 hits.

Fort Myers' D.J. Baxendale earned the award in the Class A Advanced Florida State League after he went 3-0 with a 0.32 ERA for the Twins affiliate. The Miracle right-hander led all league starters with a 0.64 WHIP and a .137 batting average against.

Colorado Springs catcher Matt McBride, who led all Minor League Baseball players with 31 RBIs and an .811 slugging percentage, earned the nod for the Triple-A Pacific Coast League while Norfolk first baseman Travis Ishikawa took home International League honors after hitting .413 with seven homers and 24 RBIs for the Orioles affiliate.

Rockies No. 12 prospect Rosell Herrera was the lone shortstop to make the list -- he hit .324 with five homers and 24 RBIs for Class A Asheville in the South Atlantic League.

Anthony Aliotti paced the Texas League in batting average (.400), hits (42), total bases (72), extra-base hits (18), doubles (12), walks (22) and on-base percentage (.496). The Midland RockHounds first baseman ranked second in slugging (.686), OPS (1.182), RBIs (24) and had 13 multi-hit games and a 17 game on-base streak.
