PORTLAND, ME - The Eastern League is pleased to announce the winners of the Eastern League Player of the Week Award and Eastern League Pitcher of the Week Award for the period of June 10th through June 16th:

Bowie Baysox catcher Caleb Joseph has been selected as the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of June 10th-June 16th. The 26-year old, who turns 27 on Tuesday, batted .522 (12-for-23) with three doubles, one home run, seven RBI, four runs scored, two walks and a .783 slugging percentage in six games last week. Joseph, who is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, had at least one hit in all six games he played in last week and had multiple hits in five of those games. He also drove in or scored at least one run in five games, including going 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI in a 6-0 win at Reading on Wednesday night. The 6'3", 180 lb. slugger led all Eastern League players in batting average (.522) and hits (12) last week. He also finished ranked among the weekly leaders in RBI (7-2nd), on-base percentage (.538-3rd), total bases (18-3rd), OPS (1.321-5th), doubles (3-tied 6th), extra-base hits (4-tied 6th), slugging percentage (.783-8th) and runs scored (4-tied 9th). Caleb, who is hitting .305 with 13 homers and 50 RBI in 60 games for the Baysox this season and currently leads the league with 31 extra-base hits, was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the seventh round of the 2008 draft out after batting .335 with 48 RBI during his junior season at Lipscomb University.

Taylor Jordan, a right-handed starting pitcher for the Harrisburg Senators, has been selected as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of June 10th-June 16th. The 6'3", 190 lb. hurler started one game for the Senators last week and had a record of 1-0 with 11 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. Jordan, who is a native of Merritt Island, Florida, made his lone start of the week on Thursday night at Metro Bank Park against the visiting Richmond Flying Squirrels and threw his first career nine inning shutout in Harrisburg's 9-0 victory. Jordan took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finished with a career-high 11 strikeouts while scattering one walk and five hits. He also contributed to the win at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and one RBI. The 24-year old tied for the league lead in ERA (0.00), complete games (1) and shutouts (1) last week and also ranked among the weekly league leaders in wins (1-tied 3rd), strikeouts (11-tied 4th), innings pitched (9.0-tied 6th) and WHIP (0.67-tied 8th). Taylor, who has a record of 5-0 with 39 strikeouts and a 0.66 ERA in seven games with the Senators since making his Double-A debut on May 12th, was selected by the Washington Nationals in the ninth round of the 2009 draft out of Brevard County Community College.
