Zambrano posts zeros for IronPigs
Carlos Zambrano tossed seven shutout innings in his second start with Lehigh Valley as the IronPigs downed the Toledo Mud Hens, 3-0. Zambrano (1-0) struck out six and allowed five hits and a walk. He threw 108 pitches -- 73 strikes -- in his fifth appearance this season.
Cesar Hernandez had two hits, including a double, two RBIs and a stolen base for the IronPigs. Josh Fields and Cameron Rupp added two hits apiece.

Matt Shoemaker struck out nine and allowed just two hits over five scoreless innings as Salt Lake downed Sacramento, 10-0. Shoemaker (6-9) tossed 96 pitches and lowered his ERA to 4.61 with the effort.
Chris Nelson belted a pair of homers and Andrew Romine homered and had three hits and two RBIs out of the leadoff spot for the Bees. Matt Long also went yard, driving in three and scoring twice.

Jackie Bradley Jr. hit his third homer of the season as Pawtucket defeated Columbus, 3-2. Boston's No. 2 prospect went 1-for-4, adding a walk while striking out twice.
Boston's No. 2 prospect Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-5, raising his average to .263 with a .721 OPS in five games since his promotion to Triple-A. Ezequiel Carrera added three hits for Columbus.

Jim Gallagher singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th as Charlotte walked off with a 7-6 win over Syracuse. Gallagher was pinch-hitting for Mike McDade and drove in Angel Sanchez, who was 2-for-3 with three runs and a walk.
Brent Morel homered for the Knights and Josh Phegley added three hits. Syracuse got home runs from Eury Perez, Tyler Moore and Zach Walters.

A day after being promoted from Double-A San Antonio, Kevin Quackenbush picked up his first Triple-A win as Tucson topped Las Vegas, 5-2. The Padres' No. 18 prospect allowed a hit and a walk while fanning two over two scoreless relief innings.
Brandon Allen and Cody Decker each doubled twice and Dean Anna went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Padres.
