Bierfeldt got the start in right field, and took full advantage of the opportunity. He homered to deep left in the second inning to tie the game at one.

Staten Island would take the lead again in the third. The first four batters would reach, and the Yankees would use back to back doubles to take a 4-1 lead.

Aberdeen chipped away in the fourth. Kris Richards doubled, and Bierfeldt followed with one of his two doubles. Two batters later, Tanner Rust would hit a ground out that scored Bierfeldt and the IronBirds trailed 4-3 after four innings.

All told, Bierfeldt, Rust, Anthony Vega, Jared Breen, Sam Kimmel and Trey Mancini all came in to score, making it 9-4 Aberdeen.

The IronBirds tacked on an extra run in the ninth. Rust led off with a single and scored when Kimmel grounded into a double play.
