Sanchez Joins Isotopes
Cilladi to Disabled List

Left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez joins the Albuquerque Isotopes today June, 24 after signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent on May 15. He is scheduled to start tonight's 7:05 p.m. game. In a corresponding move, catcher Stephen Cilladi was placed on the disabled list with a right ankle sprain.

Sanchez began the 2013 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates and appeared in five games (four starts). The Puerto Rico native went 0-3 with an 11.85 ERA (18 ER/13.2 IP) and struck out 15.

The southpaw was originally selected in the 27th round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft by the San Francisco Giants. He spent eight years in the Giants organization and split 2012 between the Kansas City Royals and Colorado Rockies. Overall, he is 39-58 in the Major Leagues, coupled with a 4.70 ERA (411 ER/786.1 IP). The six-foot hurler made his Major League debut on May 28, 2006 with the Giants against the Colorado Rockies.

The 30-year-old has collected double-digit wins once in his Major League career, in 2010 with the Giants. He posted 13 victories with a 3.07 ERA (66 ER/193.1 IP) that year, also accounting for his most innings pitched in a single season.

Cilladi was placed on the disabled list after being activated from it on June 20. He was originally signed by the Dodgers in the 33rd round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. In 39 Minor League games, the Phoenix native is batting .181 (17-for-94) with two home runs and a triple.

Lefty Jonathan Sanchez (0-0, 0.00) is scheduled to take the hill for his first Albuquerque start against Round Rock's Scott Richmond (2-2, 7.44).
