RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - The JetHawks fell to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 12-6, on Thursday night at LoanMart Field to snap their second half-opening seven game win streak.

The Quakes jumped on starter Brady Rodgers (5-5) early in his first start since returning from a brief stint with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Rodgers allowed two runs in the second inning and was then removed from the game in the third inning with a hand injury. He allowed four runs on six hits over 2 1/3 innings.

Darnell Sweeney hit a solo home run against Rodgers and led the Quakes attack with a 3-for-5 night. He doubled twice and drove in four runs.

Andrew Aplin led the JetHawks comeback charge. Aplin finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. He walked and picked up a run with a sacrifice-fly as well.

Theron Geith allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings out of the bullpen after entering the game for the injured Rodgers.

Chris Devenski, the tandem starter, allowed six runs (five earned) on four hits over two innings. He walked two without recording a strikeout.

Cameron Lamb threw two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Lancaster attempted to rally late in the game. Nolan Fontana doubled and scored on an Aplin single to start the eighth but Aplin was thrown out at second base trying to stretch the hit to a double. M.P. Cokinos, who finished the game 3-for-5, followed with a double and scored on Joe Sclafani's fourth homer of the season.

In the ninth, Chris Epps doubled and would later come around to score the JetHawks final run of the game.

Quakes starter Carlos Frias (1-1) allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits over six innings. He struck out eight Lancaster hitters.

The JetHawks (7-1, 46-32) take on the Quakes (1-7, 32-46) in game two of the series on Friday at 7:05 pm in Rancho Cucamonga. David Rollins and Tyson Perez will pitch against Quakes starter Gustavo Gomez.
