Top Tigers prospect ends homer drought, plates three runs

Nick Castellanos slugged his 11th homer of the season and first since June 8, finishing with three RBIs in Toledo's 10-6 triumph at Pawtucket.

The Tigers' top prospect is batting .299/.376/.484 in 82 games. Rehabbing Tigers catcher Alex Avila added a three-run blast for the Mud Hens.

Yankees No. 16 prospect Brett Marshall allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings to earn his third win as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre beat Syracuse, 6-0, to salvage a split of its doubleheader.

Nationals No. 14 prospect Zach Walters doubled and picked up two RBIs in the opener as the Chiefs edged the RailRiders, 5-4.

Third-ranked White Sox prospect Erik Johnson earned his first Triple-A win, yielding two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven over seven innings, as Charlotte topped Louisville, 8-3.

White Sox No. 15 prospect Josh Phegley hit his 14th homer and drove in two runs for the Knights.

Kyle Jensen homered, doubled and drove in five runs to lead New Orleans over Round Rock, 9-4. In four games with the Zephyrs, Jensen has a pair of roundtrippers, two doubles and six RBIs.

Astros No. 3 prospect George Springer lifted his first Triple-A homer as Oklahoma City shut down Nashville, 6-3, to complete a doubleheader sweep.

Springer finished 2-for-5 in the twinbill, delivering an RBI double in the opener. Jonathan Villar, Houston's 12th-ranked prospect, finished 4-for-9 with a homer, double and three RBIs.
