Gamboa No-Hits Senators
06/30/2013 5:25 PM ET

Bowie, MD - Eddie Gamboa no-hit the Senators over seven innings, as the Bowie Baysox coasted to a 7-0 win in game one of a doubleheader. Game two was postponed due to rain.

The knuckleballer walked three and struck out five. It was the first time the Senators have been no-hit since June 1, 2007 by Rhadames Liz, a game that also took place in Bowie at Prince George's Stadium.

The Baysox jumped on Harrisburg starter Paul Demny right away with six runs in the first, and Demny wasn't able to make it out of the inning. The right-hander walked four and gave up three hits, the big blow being a grand slam off the bat of Garabez Rosa. Seth Loman also delivered a two-run double.

Tyler Herron replaced Demny and was solid in relief, giving up just one run in four and one-third innings. Pat McCoy also chipped in with a shutout inning out of the Senators bullpen.

Tomorrow, the Senators open a three-game series in Erie against the SeaWolves. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and the game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and it's available through iHeart Radio beginning with the pregame show at 6:50 p.m.
