For the second straight week, Keys catcher and designated hitter Michael Ohlman was named Carolina League Player of the Week.

Ohlman's batting line during the week of June 24-30 read .407/.467/.704 over seven contests, in which he went 11-for-27 with five doubles, a three-run walk-off home run, eight RBIs, three runs scored, three walks and seven strikeouts. Ohlman has stayed hot since returning from the disabled list on May 23, and in June batted .356 with 15 extra-base hits, including five home runs, and 17 RBIs.

Ohlman missed six weeks with a shoulder injury he suffered on April 15 and in the 35 games since he returned to the lineup, he's second in the league in batting average (.355), walks (23) and extra-base hits (10) and leads the league in triples (4), on-base percentage (.456), slugging percentage (.645) and OPS (1.102).

Only Potomac's Jason Martinson and Salem's Garin Cecchini, both of whom have been promoted to Double-A, have also been named player of the week twice. Martinson is the only other player to receive the honors back-to-back, doing so the first two weeks of the season. In similar fashion, Ohlman has been named player of the week in the first two weeks of the second half.

Ohlman is batting .318 with 28 runs, 13 doubles, four triples, six homers, 26 RBIs, 29 walks, an on-base percentage of .426 and a slugging percentage of .538 for the season. If he had enough at-bats to qualify, he would rank second in the league in on-base percentage and fourth in slugging percentage.

A 2009 draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles, Ohlman is in his first season at the Advanced-A level and in his fifth season of professional baseball. An 11th round pick of the O's, the 6-5, 215-pound right-handed hitting catcher batted .304 in 51 games with Class-A Delmarva last season. Ohlman, 22, was drafted out of Lakewood Ranch High School in Florida. Entering the 2013 season, MLB.com rated him No. 19 among Orioles prospects.
