Erie, PA - The Senators committed four errors and the Erie SeaWolves scored a run in the eighth inning to win the game 2-1.
Erie took the lead with a run in the fourth inning on Wade Gaynor's RBI single. Destin Hood prevented another from scoring though, as he gunned down Luis Castillo at the plate for the third out.
The Senators tied the game in the sixth when Sandy Leon drew a leadoff walk and eventually came around to score on an RBI double from Brian Goodwin. It was the first run for the Senators in 26 innings.
With one out in the eighth, Hernan Perez doubled and advanced to third on an error. He came in to score on an RBI fielder's choice by James McCann.
Jon Link pitched a complete game and allowed just five hits to earn his first win. Rob Gilliam was solid for the Senators, striking out seven over five and two-thirds innings of work. Neil Holland gave up the unearned SeaWolves run in the eighth and took the loss. Matt Swynenberg tossed an inning and one-third of scoreless relief, retiring all four batters he faced.
Tomorrow, the Senators conclude their three-game series in Erie against the SeaWolves and look to avoid the sweep.
