Moosic, Pa. - On a summer night, few things fuel the soul better than a night at the ballpark. For those responsible fans that so choose, a beer can prove the perfect accent. Starting on the Fourth of July when the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) begin a nine-game homestand, the most unique beer-delivery system available will open eyes nightly.
The RailRiders have added the Bottoms Up Draft Beer Dispensing System to the PNC Field experience. The cups are placed onto a beer dispenser that, seemingly magically, fills the cup from the bottom up. The efficient, eye-catching and head-minimizing method has caught the sports world by storm.
There is a hole in the bottom of the cup with a thin metallic ring pressed around it. An FDA-approved rubber magnet in the bottom seals the hole. When the cup is pressed onto the dispenser the nozzle pushes up on the magnet to break the seal, the cup is filled, and when the cup is picked up the magnet is pulled down to seal the cup for use.
"This is a must-see addition to our guests' ballpark experience," said RailRiders president/GM Rob Crain. "It will help everyone get their beers faster, but best of all, it's just really, really cool."
The Bottoms Up method fittingly makes its PNC Field debut on our nation's birthday. The uniquely American idea was founded in an American garage and is still American-made to this day. Starting Thursday, it will perfectly pour Budweisers and Bud Lights at each RailRiders home game.
