Clippers go into all-star break with win over Indy
House delivers on mound for second straight start
07/14/2013 4:37 PM ET

The Clippers went into the all-star break with a 6-1 win over Indianapolis at Victory Field.

Columbus and Indianapolis traded punches early in this game. The Clippers got on the board first with a Tim Fedroff RBI groundout in the top of the first. Indy retaliated with a Matt Hague RBI single in the bottom half of the frame.

In the top of the second, Columbus took advantage of some chaos created by subpar Indians defense. Luis Hernanadez hit a grounder to second. The throw home was not in time as Matt Carson scored from third on the play. Another run would cross the plate for the Clippers when Nate Spears scored on a Graham Godfrey wild pitch.

The Clippers continued to add to their lead in the top of the sixth. Ezequiel Carrera scored on a Tim Fedroff fielder's choice. That was followed up with a Jeremy Hermida RBI double and Juan Diaz coming around to score on a Matt Carson RBI groundout.

For the second straight start, Columbus lefty T. J. House was sharp on the mound. House (W, 3-9) held Indy to one run on seven hits while striking out six and walking two in six innings of work. Graham Godfrey (L, 6-6) took the loss for Indy.

After a three day respite during the all-star break, Columbus will be back in action on Thursday when they begin a four game series with Iron Pigs at Lehigh Valley. The starters on the mound for both teams have yet to be determined. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
