Eibner Named TL Player of the Week for Second Time in 2013
Former Razorback is first repeat winner this season

SPRINGDALE, Ark - Northwest Arkansas Naturals outfielder Brett Eibner was named the Texas League Player of the Week for the week of July 8-14, Texas League President Tom Kayser announced this morning. Eibner wins the award for the second time this season, as the University of Arkansas product was the Texas League Player of the Week for the week of April 15-22.

During six games last week, Eibner went 12-for-27 (.444) with four doubles, a triple, three home runs, five RBI and six runs scored. Eibner went four-for-five with two doubles, two home runs and two RBI against the Springfield Cardinals on Saturday night. In the six-game span, Eibner has raised his average by 14 points.

Entering tonight's game against the Tulsa Drillers, Eibner has a three-game, multi-hit streak. He leads the Naturals with seven triples and is second on the team with 47 runs scored, 12 home runs and 128 total bases.

Eibner is the first Natural since Mike Moustakas and Clint Robinson in 2010 to be named Texas League Player of the Week multiple times in a single season. The Naturals have claimed the weekly Texas League honor four times this season, as Brian Fletcher earned the award for the week of June 3-10 and Whit Merrifield claimed the honor for the week of June 24-July 1. Yordano Ventura was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for May 6-13, with Brooks Pounders taking home the honors for the week of June 24-July 1.

Carlos Hernandez of the Midland RockHounds was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week.

The Naturals return to Arvest Ballpark on Thursday for a seven-game homestand. They will welcome the Springfield Cardinals for their final visit of the season July 18-21 before hosting the Arkansas Travelers July 22-24.
