MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats unveiled the home portion of their 2014 season schedule at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The team will open the season on the road before playing the home opener on Thursday, April 10, against the Binghamton Mets at 6:35 p.m. The 71-game slate features 29 Atlas Fireworks shows, 11 weekend games with the Future Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs, and home engagements on Memorial Day Weekend and the 4th of July.
The Sea Dogs will first visit Manchester for a four-game wrap-around series on Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26. The teams will play four more on the banks of the Merrimack River from Thursday, July 17, through Sunday, July 20. Portland returns for three final games with the Fisher Cats to begin the last homestand of the year on Friday, August 22.
This year's fireworks docket begins on Friday, April 11, and includes a 4th of July extravaganza to celebrate America's birthday against the affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Trenton Thunder. Beginning with the final weekend in April, nearly every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday home game throughout the season will be followed by a brilliant display of pyrotechnics.
Game times will remain similar to years past with weeknight games beginning at 6:35 p.m. in April through May 16, and the final week of the regular season from August 25-28. Beginning May 17, weeknight games move to 7:05 p.m. through the middle of August. The first Saturday of the season begins at 1:35 p.m. before gradually moving back to 7:05 p.m. by Memorial Day. Sunday matinees will be a staple at 1:35 p.m. all season.
The Fisher Cats will continue their seven-game homestand tonight against the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at 7:05 p.m. Tonight's game features Atlas Fireworks, and fans can win a gift card to Nadeau's Subs by playing Nadeau's Left-Center-Right for free during the game.
