CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (July 25, 2013) - The Generals (15-15) won their third straight Thursday over the Chattanooga Lookouts (12-20) 7-4, taking the series. Jackson's offense produced 11 hits including six extra-base hits, including a season-high four triples. Jack Marder paced the offense with three RBIs on the night. The Generals have won five of six since the All-Star break and seven of their last eight road games.

Chattanooga took an early lead in the bottom of the first as J.T. Wise drove in Joc Pederson and Rafael Ynoa with a two out RBI double.

However, in the second Jackson cut the two-run lead in half. Ji-Man Choi (1-5, R) belted a triple then, Jack Marder (2-4, 3 RBI, R) singled to left which plated Choi. Halfway through two innings the Lookouts led 2-1.

In the third, Chattanooga's Brian Cavzos-Galvez scored courtesy of Ozzie Martinez's ground-rule double that cushionied their lead and made it 3-1.

Once again the Generals responded in the fourth as first basemen Dan Paolini (1-2, 2 R, 3 BB), led-off with a walk and scored Jackson's second run after a triple by Marder. Then, Chris Taylor (1-5, 2 R) walked to placing runners on the corners for Jackson. Gabriel Noriega (2-4, RBI) capitalized by singling to right which plated Marder and moved Taylor to second. The hit parade continued as Ramon Morla (3-3, RBI) served a RBI single to left to give the Generals their first lead of the night, 4-3.

Jackson's offense stayed hot in the fifth as John Hicks (1-4, HR) opened the inning with a home run. Paolini's first Double-A hit was the Generals third triple of the game. He scored after a sacrifice fly from Marder. After tacking on two more runs, Jackson led 6-3 going into the bottom of the fifth.

Insurance came in the eighth for Jackson, as Chris Taylor led off with a triple and then scored via a wild pitch to strengthen the Generals lead. Halfway through eight, the Generals led 7-4.

Jackson used four pitchers on the night. Anthony Fernandez (W, 6-5) picked up the win while striking out five batters in 5.2 innings. Kyle Hunter (H, 3) relieved Fernandez getting the biggest out of the game in the sixth, with the tying run at the plate. Forrest Snow (H, 2) made his first appearance after returning from Tacoma by striking out one in 1.2 innings. Tyler Burgoon (S, 4) shut the door after giving up a lead-off hit to Matt Walach. It was Burgoon's first save since June 20th. Chris Reed picked up the loss for Chattanooga.
