(PK Park - Eugene, OR) - The debut of Ladner, B.C. native RHP Tom Robson ended up bittersweet as the Vancouver Canadians allowed four runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to fall 5-3 to Eugene on Monday night to drop a third straight game on the road.
After falling behind 1-0, the Canadians would plate a trio of runs in the top of the 6th inning with 3B Justin Atkinson hitting a bases loaded double off of Eugene reliever RHP Mike Kelly to give Vancouver their first lead of the night.
Canadians RHP Tom Robson would make his Northwest League debut going 5 2/3 innings of work, limiting the Emeralds to just three hits while walking one and striking out four. LHP Colton Turner would get the game to the 8th inning pitching a scoreless 1 1/3 inning of work before Vancouver manager Clayton McCullough chose to summon RHP Justin James out of the bullpen for the 8th inning.
Eugene would send eight batters to the plate, scoring four runs off of James who gave up a two-run double to CF Henry Charles that scored both 1B Trae Santos (intentional walk) and 3B Fernando Perez (fielder's choice) to give the Emeralds a 5-3 lead.
Closer RHP Adam Cimber came into pitch a three-up, three-down top of the 9th as Vancouver drops a third straight game to Eugene and fall to 3-4 (.429) in the second half, one full game back of Everett.
